The Mine Hill Presbyterian Church began as a Sabbath School in 1856, founded by David Jenkins, an agent of the Crane Iron Company. It was located in an old school house on Randolph Avenue. Construction began in 1873 on a white wood framed building with a large steeple. It was located on what is now the corner of Route 46 and Randall Avenue.

In May of 1874 the Morris and Orange Presbytery organized the Mine Hill Presbyterian Church. Its first pastor was Rev. Pearce Rogers. The church wasn’t completed until 1879. The original church was destroyed by fire in 1925. The corner stone for the present church was laid in 1927. The congregation met at the Mine Hill Fire House until the church was completed and dedicated in 1931. We are proud of our stained-glass windows with many given as memorials to some of Mine Hill’s oldest families.
